What a fantastic website. I contacted Lucy as we were going to Rome for a long weekend, and although was aware of the main sights I wasn’t sure how best to hit them all in the time we had. Lucy gave me a detailed itinerary including the best timings and order, with advice and suggestions for food/refreshments en-route. Within the itinerary were some suggestions for lesser known places including sunset cocktails at a hotel near the pantheon which we had never heard of but which was amazing. All of her suggestions have a personal touch that you don’t tend to get when researching yourself. If you have a trip planned and want to get the most out of your time then give Love Travel Planning a go.

I loved browsing through this travel website - it’s a very practical site with great advice, a wide range of holiday experiences are covered, and it’s a pleasure to read. I’ll definitely recommend to friends and anyone looking to plan a holiday, and will use it when organising my own trips.

Lucy is clearly passionate, well-travelled and very well informed. I followed the Rome Itineraries and managed to fit most of the 5 suggested itineraries into 4 days in Rome. The itineraries group the sites into manageable chunks which meant we saw everything we had hoped to, and more! The tips on optimum times to visit key sites, and ways to skip queues saved us a lot of time. We particularly enjoyed some of the lesser known sites included in the itineraries - these felt like secret spots away from the touring masses. There is plenty of inspiration for future travels on the website and I look forward to following Lucy's advice on our next adventure.

Lucy gave me some really great advice about where to go in Marakesh which saved us lots of time & hassle. We pre booked things I wouldn’t have thought to do & that meant we made the most of our short trip. We both work so time is precious & I highly recommend Lucy who listens carefully to make sure her advice is tailored to you & you get the most out of your trip . Thanks Lucy 😘

I enjoy reading the blogs on Love Travel Planning and learning about new destinations - who knew Canada has a ‘Dead Sea’? Really useful to know. Enjoy the reads!

Lucy was fantastic in helping us plan our 25th wedding anniversary. We didn’t fancy the usual ‘romantic’ destinations and wanted something fun and different. How about Vegas, baby! Lucy did an incredible amount of research - we took a helicopter flight that landed in The Grand Canyon where we supped champagne; went shopping in the amazing Caesars Palace mall; and had our vows renewed in the Graceland Wedding Chapel by….Elvis no less! Seriously, if you love travel but (like us) are too lazy to do the time-consuming research, talk to Lucy.

I absolutely love this website. We recently followed the tips and suggestions for Oman. The articles were really useful both before we went (visas, what to pack etc.) and whilst we were there. We visited all of the places recommended in Muscat and then having read the suggestions about day trips from Muscat, we ventured into the desert to swim in wadis and ride camels which our children loved. The articles are full of great tips and beautifully written. Will definitely be using again. Ps I also recently used the article on BA air miles which I found really useful. It made much more sense than what I was reading online and I used it to book flights to New York.

Travel resources

There is a section dedicated to planning techniques, stories and resources, including how to maximise reward schemes.

A white luggage label with the words LAX Los Angels on it along with the numbers in black and a bar code. The label is attached to the black handle of a dark suitcase. You can just see a woven orange strap around the top of the suitcase

Maximising reward points

Signing up to an airline reward scheme, or hotel points scheme, can be a great investment for benefits further down the line, as it takes time to build up points to hit the reward levels.  The following blogs outline how to sign up and start saving for airline and hotel rewards.

Two navy blue suitcases lie on their sides on the floor of a wooden boat. The left suitcase is slightly bigger and features 4 stickers (one says Houston on it). The right hand suitcase has an orange strap. Both cases have their white airline tags showing on the top. To the left hand side of the boat, you can see the water through the side and a boat sailing past

Packing & Checklists

Packing for a trip can be a pleasure for those who see it as part of the excitement and anticipation of the trip, whilst others find it stressful, particularly if they don’t have much time, but with a good checklist in place, you can take the thinking out of the process.  Here’s how…

Travel Bookshelf

It’s great to read book set in the destination you are visiting on a trip, or written by an author from that place. Being in the destination can really help give the book a real sense of place.  Here are some ideas of what to read by location related to the trips on my blog.
